Configuring an IPDirector subject



AvalidconnectiontotheIPDirectorwebserviceshouldbeconfiguredbeforeconfiguringanIPDirectorsubject.Youcan

opentheIPDirectorconfigurationpanelviathe[Options > Configure IPDirector ]menuentry.

Youcanchangethesubject'soptionsbyclickingonthe buttononthetopoftheingestpanel.

Inthe"Destination options"tab,youcanmodifytheIPDirectordestinationoptions.

ForIPDirectordestinationsubjectsyoucanconfigurethedestinationfilenamingrules.Theseruleswillbeappliedasabase

nameforallgenerateddestinationfiles.Youcanalsosettherulesdeterminingwhatshouldbedoneifafilewiththesame

namealreadyexists.

Youcanselectfromamongfourdifferentfilenamingrules:

l "Source clip name"meansthatthebasenameofdestinationfilewillbethesameasthesourcefile.Forexample,if

thesourcefileisMyClip.mxfthenthedestinationbasenamewillbeMyClip.

l "Source user clip name"meansthatthebasenameofthedestinationfilewillbetheuserdefinedclipname(as

storedinthesequencemetadataifthereareany).Ifnouserclipnameisdefined,itisresolvedas"Notfound".

l "Ask me (not available in Auto-Ingest)" meansthatyouwillbepromptedtomanuallyrenametheingestitems

whenyoudropthemtotheingeststack.ThisoptionisnotavailableinAuto-Ingest.See"Manualrenamingdialog"

l "Following basename"meansthatthebasenameofthedestinationfilewillbethetextstringprovided.

Twooptionsarepossibleintheeventofafileconflict:

l "Ask me"meansthatanerrorwillberaisedeachtimethereisaconflict,requestingyoutoselecttheappropriate

action.

l "Automatically increment filename"meansthatanordinalwillbeaddedtothenewdestinationfilebasename.For

example,ifafilenamedMyClip.mxfalreadyexists,thenewdestinationbasenamewillbeMyClip1andsoon.This

optionisautomaticallyselectedifyouuseafixedbasename,thusallowingyoutoingestorderedlistsofingests

(MyClip1,MyClip2...MyClipNlist).
